Overview

NV5 Geospatial (NV5G) is actively recruiting a GIS Analyst who possesses sound expertise in geospatial technologies and analytic methodologies. The analyst must be self-motivated with exceptional planning, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills. The Analyst must work well in team environments. The analyst will provide support for the collection, production, analysis, dissemination and maintenance of consistent and accurate, installation geospatial data and products, which includes both GIS and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) for installations in Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. The analyst will be based in US Army Garrison – Poland/Poznaʼn. European Union citizenship (preferred) or US citizenship, along with the ability to successfully pass a basic background check for access to US military bases, is required for employment.

Work Environment:

  • Location:  The office work is based in US Army Garrison – Poland/Poznaʼn
  • Travel:  Ability to travel within Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania to surrounding USAG sites for field work collection.

Responsibilities

  • Part of a team responsible for map production and analysis, maintaining Army GIS data standards, and ensuring that requirements are met.
  • Ability to input data into GIS and mapping systems, read and interpret maps, record drawings and legal descriptions, prepare charts, graphs and displays.
  • Familiarity with Army real property standards.
  • Familiarity with QCP implementation and implementing the SDSFIE family of standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate progress to the client and communicate issues related to unclear, missing, or incomplete information.
  • Ability to engage with local client staff and take technical direction from local subject matter experts.
  • Ability to accurately prepare deliverables for delivery to the client.
  • Ability to pass US DOD basic background check.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in geography, computer science, surveying engineering, forestry, earth science or natural resources or a related field.
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Software.
  • Working knowledge of design and use of GIS and/or computerized mapping system (public or military).
  • 2 Years experience with GIS.
  • Understanding of field data collection techniques and principles.
  • General computer skills, i.e. word processor, e-mail, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Fluent English language speaking and writing skillset.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in geography, computer science, surveying engineering, forestry, earth science or natural resources.
  • European Union citizenship preferred.
  • Experience w/ ArcGIS Pro. 
  • Sound technical understanding of key technologies (GIS, CADD, Database) and systems.
