Responsibilities

  • Obtain basic data form documents, occupant interviews and field observations.
  • Prepares floor plans, site plans and other drawings for small construction and remodel projects using computer aided drafting and calculation techniques.
  • Compiles specifications and contract documents from existing sources for assigned projects.
  • Performs field observations of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to observe construction activities in relation to the design documentation.
  • Responsible for basic system sizing and layout and selection of system components. This would include the design and layout routine electrical lighting, power, and telecommunications portions of a project using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, or other means.
  • Take conceptual rough plan mark-ups and create final design documents, under the supervision of a senior designer or engineer.
  • Perform calculations and utilize various Microsoft and Third-Party software packages related to various portions of the design package as directed by more senior staff members.
  • Attends in-house seminars and pursues educational opportunities both in and outside of the office.
  • This is a full-time, in-office position.  

Qualifications

  • Utilizes AutoCAD and/or Revit software and maintains current knowledge of CAD and/or BIM technology principles and applications.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility.
  • College level education preferred, but not required.
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated electrical design experience.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of electrical design.
  • EIT Preferred.
