NV5 is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our team for a summer internship and beyond. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with no prior experience to gain hands-on exposure to real-world engineering projects. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, the intern will assist in various aspects of project development, from planning and design to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and observe construction activities.
  • Perform basic calculations and analyses to support project designs.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to project discussions.
  • Support the drafting of project documentation and presentations.
  • Support project manager and team with any other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and tabulations.
  • Ask questions to further understand business and NV5’s objectives on all projects.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
  • Strong academic performance with coursework in key civil engineering subjects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior CAD experience not a requirement. However, familiarity with Autocad/Civil3D, Microstation/InRoads, or similar CAD design tools is a benefit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
