As our Electrical Technical Project Manager, you will manage preventive maintenance work on facilities currently in operation by serving as technical lead for the planning and outage on our client’s behalf. Your understanding of electrical testing standards, passing criteria ability to diagnose poor results, knowledge in code violation identification and field engineering will be important in putting our client’s projects in the best position possible to be successful.

 

The position location is varied due to project work occurring throughout North America. The successful candidate will work virtually with occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Gather site drawings, arc flash studies, previous project and preventative maintenance reports to identify the correct maintenance scope per site to ensure safe and reliable electrical distribution system improvements are addressed during scheduled outage.
  • Responsible for financial budgets per project and monthly reporting.
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating Field Engineer attendance during scheduled outages.
  • Convey overall project status to clients by means of discussions, presentations, and project reports.
  • Development of the 80% and 100% preliminary scope package, which is a summary of the electrical system of the facility and includes the following information:
    • Document and drawing collection from various web platforms
    • Single Line Diagram Mark-up with electrical assets
    • Previous IR report review, with deficiencies recommending correction during outage
    • Arc flash relay installation report
    • Latest Arc Flash and Coordination report
    • Identification of all downstream panels above 800A
    • Testing requirements for each piece of equipment in scope
    • Updated Bill of Materials
    • Cost avoidance spreadsheet
    • Final IR/site deficiency repairs
    • Final repairs, recommended relay changes, arc flash label updates
  • Facilitate communication between site personnel and execution vendor. Assist in interpreting deficiencies and providing correct path forward.
  • Attend scope review meetings including outage preparation calls and LOTO switching planning, .
  • Ability to engage with multiple stakeholder groups and coordinate remotely. Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort. Must have excellent communication skills, ability to manage several sites simultaneously and work in fast paced work environment.

Qualifications

We are seeking the following experience & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience with Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breakers
  • Experience within engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of commercial building electrical infrastructure or similar.
  • Electrical preventative maintenance, experience is a must.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Field resource scheduling experience is a must.
  • Relay calibration and power metering knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Adobe / Bluebeam and Smartsheet.
