Senior Technician (LiDar calibration pre-processing)

The Sr. Technician works to support the Production Lead and Technical Specialists to ensure data flow and in-person data receipt. This position will work individually and as part of a team to support data extraction, raw data receipt, and review of raw data, while maintaining a high level of QA/QC.

· Responsible for data receipt from acquisition team, and returning drives to acquisition team

· Prompt airborne and mobile lidar trajectory review

· Quality checks on data post acquisition; performs QA/QC on processed data to ensure it meets accuracy requirements

· Extracting lidar and orthoimagery using sensor specific processing suites (RiProcess etc) from raw formats

· Maintains excellent data management and file organization practices

· Recognizing and understanding sources of error in airborne/mobile datasets

· Technical ability with ESRI, CADD and vector-based software

· Receipt of raw data from acquisition

Minimum Qualifications

· Able to work 5 days per week in our Portland, OR office

· 6+ months of professional experience

· An understanding of datums and projections

· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

· Knowledge of ESRI or vector-based software and TerraSolid products

· Proficiency in basic MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in a science, math, or engineering program

· A thorough understanding of datums and projections

· Knowledge of Python (Dask library) and Visual Basic

· GNSS/IMU processing/positioning knowledge

· Prior experience in sensor or swath calibration. Preferred experience using software suites like POSPac or Applanix

· Prior experience with trajectory manipulation

· Experience in alignment of terrestrial or mobile lidar datasets
