Overview

A Senior Technician supports Analysts to complete processing tasks with moderate oversight within a team-based environment. Executing data production in vector-based software platforms, this position supports senior staff in producing Lidar-driven deliverables based on client requests. It is expected that Senior Technicians will contribute to manual processing tasks with high attention to detail and efficiency.  The Senior Technician will work in the Portland, OR office.

Responsibilities

  • Established understanding of LiDAR technology 
  • Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to collaborate with a hybrid workforce
  • Can maintain efficiency and quality while performing repetitive tasks
  • Understands data interactions within a project workflow
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive demeanor in times of stress 
  • Processing and classification of remote sensing data
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as in a team 
  • Maintains processing and production sheets and assures they are updated and accurate
  • Performs multiple production tasks independently, consistently meets acceptance criteria and velocity standards for tasks 
  • Takes accountability for task outputs, and provides clear communication on data flow to task leads and production team 
  • Knowledgeable of personal tasking, task benchmarks and prioritization 
  • Proactively communicates upwards (task leads, A/TL, and Technical Leads) on the status of their task (risks, issues, and estimated time of completion)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of data-driven technical experience working with spatial data 
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in a professional work environment 
  • Knowledge of ESRI or vector-based software and TerraSolid products 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ year of technician or equivalent experience  
  • Master's degree, in geography, environmental studies/science, planning, or a related field with an emphasis in GIS 
  • Proficiency in ArcMap, MicroStation and PLS CADD preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of: 
    • Geographical Information Systems 
    • Mapping or analysis using LiDAR 
    • Transmission tower and distribution pole components (wire types, insulators, transformers)
