Director of Traffic Services

NV5 is seeking a Director of Traffic Services based out of our Jacksonville, FL office. Traffic Services include but may not be limited to: traffic studies, traffic operations analysis, speed studies, safety studies, traffic modeling, crash analysis, signal design, and signal retiming.

This position will manage the transportation staff and projects. The Director of Traffic Services will also ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and of the highest quality while maintaining positive client relationships. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

• Perform marketing and business development activities and pursue projects and new clients
• Maintain client relationships
• Participate in strategic planning
• Participate in professional organizations related to traffic engineering
• Communicate proactively with all team members and senior management 
• Establish, maintain and monitor schedules, budgets and staffing for projects 
• Mentor and train employees 
• Successfully execute projects 
• Assist with invoicing and related activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Florida PE License
• 15+ Years’ experience in traffic services
• Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience or 10 years of project management experience
• Knowledge and experience with HCS, Synchro, Cube, and similar programs/software
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment
