Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our transportation (roadway) team in Alpharetta, GA. The senior project manager will be responsible for providing technical expertise, assistance and project management associated with transportation projects and ensuring projects are completed with the highest quality. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

• Develop, and negotiate scope and fee estimates for projects.
• Coordinate tasks with other disciplines and communicate task expectations.
• Responsible for project initiation through closeout ensuring proper accounting practices are followed.
• Ensure project tasks are completed within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.
• Communicate adequately with all team members and senior management.
• Responsible for QA/QC process.
• Monitor and report on project finances monthly.
• Monitor accounts receivable.
• Responsible for reporting on a monthly basis to accounting the project billing summary for invoices.
• Assist with mentoring junior roadway staff.
• Support the development and execution of business development for the roadway group by marketing to GDOT and local municipalities to obtain new contracts.
• Develop proposals and client marketing strategies
• Facilitate client relationships by serving as point of contact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Georgia PE License Preferred
  • 10-15 Years experience in transportation (roadway) design/project management
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, InRoads and/or Openroads with Corridor Modeling softwares
  • GDOT and/or municipal project experience a plus
  • Ability to work in team setting
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment

  • Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing and grasping often with repetitive motion.
  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
