Responsibilities

The NV5 Parsippany office has a significant backlog of TAP and SRTS with NJDOT. Whether you call yourself an Engineer, Planner or even a Plangineer, do you have what it takes to help deliver these projects to communities across New Jersey. Our team is passionate about planning and engineering systems and places that encourage healthy lifestyles and community vitality. Our focus on integrating safety, active transportation, transit, trails, greenways, and parks into the existing transportation infrastructure is an integral part of our overall corporate planning, landscape architecture, and engineering practice.

 

Depending on your level of experience you can provide leadership or support on the following project types:

 

  • TAP and SRTS projects through NJDOT Local Aid.
  • SS4A Safety Projects
  • Multimodal, active transportation, and transit-friendly planning, transportation and safety studies, greenway plans, community engagement, visioning, and concept design plans.
  • Collaborate across in-house disciplines (engineering, environmental, urban design, landscape architecture) and regional offices in New York and Pennsylvania
  • Active Transportation/Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plans.
  • Vision Zero Plans , crash/safety assessments and road safety audits
  • Conceptual design, graphics, and renderings
  • Public outreach (participation in virtual and in-person meetings, development of outreach materials such as input boards and surveys)

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in TAP and SRTS projects in New Jersey required.
  • 5+ Years of experience in TAP and SRTS projects in New Jersey preferred.
  • Appropriate licensing and education depending on experience and specialty.
  • Strong communications skills, excellent writing and graphics capabilities.
  • Collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to succeed in a hybrid work environment (combination of remote, in-office, and in-the-field work)
  • Ability to participate in fieldwork, and in-person project meetings within the region
  • Provide oversight and mentoring for department staff (dependent on level of experience)
  • GIS mapping and analysis

Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000 per year

Base pay offered for this Ney Work based role may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
