We are looking for a Director of Surveying to lead our Survey group. We place great importance on integrity, excellence, responsibility, stewardship, and dedication while being passionate client advocates dedicated to improving and growing communities. 

 

The Director of Surveying is responsible for the technical production of all projects from initial notice to proceed to completion of project through final invoice. Implements the operational goals as established by the Vice President and performs either directly or directs those activities necessary to achieve the goals and objectives to support the department and obtain maximum growth and profitability.

 

The Director of Surveying reports directly to the Vice President. This position participates in Leadership Team Meetings, assuring its accountability to all constituencies.

Senior Project Managers

Project Surveyors

Chief of Surveys

Field Crews

CAD Technicians

Student Interns

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading a team of Survey professionals and supporting staff
  • Managing and communicating with project team(s), clients, and agencies
  • Serving as Senior Project Manager and Surveyor of Record for Land Development and Public Projects
  • Familiarity with applicable local & state codes and requirements and ensuring compliance
  • Preparation of Surveys and reports
  • Performing calculations
  • Perform site visits as needed
  • Attend external meetings as needed

Qualifications

KEY EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years experience in Land Surveying for private and public land development
  • 5+ years experience managing staff
  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics or related field
  • Florida Professional Surveying License
  • Excellent skills in leadership/management, mentoring/teaching, communication, teamwork, organization, prioritization, and time management
  • Thorough knowledge of project management

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a Degree in Geomatics, or equal
  • PLS/PSM license in the state of Florida is mandatory
