We are seeking a Roadway EIT (Engineer in Training) with two (2) plus years of experience to become an integral part of our Transportation Design team.  Come be a part of a growing Pacific Northwest NV5 team with the opportunity to be located in the Treasure Valley of SW Idaho.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of Civil Engineering tasks with emphasis on transportation projects, including design of roadway grading and geometric layout, utilities, storm drainage facilities, trails, and other related items.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques, standards and criteria.
  • Use engineering judgment and make minor adaptations as required for task completion.
  • Under direct supervision of a PE, perform or assist in performing studies, calculations, designs, and the preparation of reports, plans and specifications.
  • Perform a variety of construction inspection and documentation duties on roadway projects
  • Participate in client-rich professional organizations and technical societies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BSCE required.
  • EIT Certification Required.
  • 2+ years engineering experience with a background in transportation related civil design, including a combination of roadway, traffic, storm water, drainage, irrigation design and utility relocations. Traffic signal, environmental conditions / constraints, hydraulics and roundabout design a plus.
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
  • Experience with MicroStation Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Civil3D a plus.
  • Demonstrated skills developing plan sheets for ITD (Idaho Transportation Department), ACHD (Ada County Highway District), LHTAC (Local Highway Technical Assistance Council) and/or other local transportation districts.
  • Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project) experience required.
  • Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates “best practices” techniques and a willingness to learn.
  • Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability required.
  • Desire to obtain future professional licensure is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and team mentality required.
