Overview

NV5 is seeking a Senior Staff Geologist with a background in geology, ecology, engineering, or a related field to join our Seattle team. This role involves performing routine, well-defined field and office tasks (both technical and non-technical) and analysis under professional supervision. Some tasks may require minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field exploration, inspections, and provide technical support under supervision.
  • Collect environmental samples (soil, groundwater, air, soil vapor, and stormwater).
  • Oversee and direct subcontractors.
  • Conduct field testing and operate technical equipment and instruments.
  • Collaborate primarily with internal staff, including your project team and peers.
  • Communicate test results and field data to other field personnel, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies as directed.
  • Manage and tabulate data.
  • Evaluate and interpret field data.
  • Prepare maps, charts, and run simple computer programs.
  • Review regulatory permit data.
  • Write field reports, internal correspondence, and draft sections of formal reports.
  • Adhere to NV5 site safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Review invoices from subcontractors and equipment/materials suppliers.

Qualifications

  • B.S. and/or M.S. in Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related technical field with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • GIT or EIT certification preferred.

The pay range for this Washington position is $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on/stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. NV5 offers a Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year and 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time hourly employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
