NV5 Truckee is looking for a Senior Engineer to manage geotechnical engineering investigations, perform engineering design, and manage construction materials testing and special inspections. The person must possess skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and must be steadfast in the execution of assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the scope of geotechnical investigation and preparing proposals.
  • Understanding client objectives, code requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervising the work of engineering/geology staff and field technicians.
  • Review project plans and specifications and prepare construction materials testing and inspection proposals.
  • Maintaining client relationships and creating new project opportunities.
  • Direct, review and monitor work performed by the materials testing and inspection technicians.
  • Project management: Manage projects from inception through completion and have primary responsibility for managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets expectations. Manage projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
  • Position may require travel to work with other NV5 office locations.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as a Registered PE.
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering investigation, design, and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA).
  • Must have valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Registered Civil Engineer (PE) in California.


The pay range for this California position is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
